South Point is a charming old-school hotel resort, and I think it makes for a nice base for a few days of exploring in and around Vegas if you have a car. If you don't have a car, don't stay here -- I'm sure they have a shuttle bus to the Strip, but it will get old quickly. We spent our few days traveling around national parks and not spending that much time at the hotel, but whenever we were there, I had very little to complain about. I guess my only complaints would be the view (I was literally facing a factory-like chimney with no view whatsoever) and the soundproofing which is very poor. There were also some little hiccups, for example I was only given one roll of toilet paper for 4 days and ran out on my last night, and the pool was out of towels every time I went there. Overall South Point is decent value for money, but I don't think it'd take them much to improve their services.
