Our stay was a huge disappointment. The hotel location was great but our room was across the street from an open university, where the students conversed loudly on the terrace until 11 pm and the student brass band blew their lungs to bits, practising every night till nearly midnight. Needless to say, there was no sound proofing whatsoever. As for the room, the confirmation email said we had reserved a room with a balcony (meaning one with a table and chairs), but instead we got a french balcony - which is not a balcony at all, just some bars across an open window. The receptionist spent a lot of time teaching us the (Spanish) meaning of balcony... The WiFi worked - sort of - only in the lobby, and cost 30 euros for the week (per person)! (Even the shabbiest hostels in South America provide free WiFi in guest rooms). And on our travels, if ever a hotel has offered a safe deposit box, it has been free of charge - but not this one. They charged us 2 euros per day for a box hardly big enough for a smartphone. On the up side, the cleaning ladies kept the room, such as it was, immaculate. The hotel is in urgent need of renovations and, especially on the internet side, it needs to enter the 21st century.
