Great hotel and experience despite Covid!
Overall a very pleasant 9-night stay at Kremlin Palace with my girlfriend in September.
Pros: the facilities were great and food and drinks are excellent. I think they managed to make the buffet thing work well in these Covid times (many thanks to the great people who have to both cook and serve the food!). Service was mostly good, although not all staff spoke English. Rooms were cleaned every day although sheets were not always changed. Also, we received 2 fruit bowls and 2 bottles of wine in the room during our stay which was a really nice touch!
Cons: nothing major here, but the hotel does not accept Amex! I think this would be good to mention during the booking process. When checking in, I was told I cannot pay with Amex. However, they very kindly upgraded us to a superior room free of charge to compensate for the inconvenience -- well done! Second, breakfast finishes at 10:30 and snack bars don't open until 12 so if you happen to wake up hungry after 10, be prepared to wait almost 2 hours before getting any food. I wish some snack bars would open sooner, say, at 11, just so that guests who want to sleep in could get some fruit or something after waking up. Finally, the taxi that we got from the hotel to the airport charged a fixed price of 20 EUR, which was more than twice what we paid on the way to the hotel! So just make sure your taxi is running the meter before you set off or they will charge you more.
All in all, a great experience, can't wait to be back!
