I recently stayed at the Luxor Hotel in Florence and was thoroughly disappointed with my experience. First and foremost, the location is far from the city center, making it inconvenient for exploring the beautiful sights of Florence. Despite its high rating of 8.8, I found the hotel to be grossly overrated.
The lack of complementary supplies in the room was frustrating—there were no toothpaste, toothbrush, tissue box, or even bottled water. To make matters worse, there were ants in both the room and the toilet, which was absolutely unacceptable.
When I approached Expedia to change the hotel, the receptionist became visibly upset, even though they were my booking source. This made an already unpleasant situation even more uncomfortable. Additionally, I felt that I paid double the value for what the hotel was actually worth.
The breakfast options were extremely limited, and the bar attendant was rude to my wife, serving her a dirty glass. Overall, if you want to enjoy Florence, please do not choose this hotel. It was a terrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
