Too noisy....no Sleep
Nice room and nice common area. Unfortunately the room was surrounded by extremely thin walls and all the sounds from the person above could be heard. The creaking floor boards (my ceiling) and room noises kept we awake. The walls were so thin with little to no noise insulation that I could hear the babbling water fountain outside...you can imagin the road noise that found its way into the room. Also there were floor vents heating the room (great.....but the problem was that there was no way to control the vents, no thermostat) so I was bouncing between too hot and too cold when they would decide to go on or off with me having no way to control it! It was a miserable experience, the management should really fix the noise issue and put in a thermostat for the room.

We were staying at the main house which the breakfast area is below us. We can hear people starts talking at 7ish to 9ish am. That just woke us up totally. We were hoping to have a nice n quiet relaxing morning so we can sleep in. The room is small for the price. Can make the bathroom n closet to be smaller so the room is bigger. The mattress is too soft. Breakfast is good and outdoor area is nice to sit n chill.

Best of Shaver Lake
Absolutely amazing! Bed very comfortable, jacuzzi tub great, big shower/bathroom, microwave, refrigerator and spent hours at the table and chairs on the deck. Snacks and water waiting for us when we arrived, easy to find breakfast Friday and absolutely outstanding homemade breakfast Saturday. Our hostess was super friendly, personable and a great cook.

Decent Stay, Not Blown Away
Overall, we enjoyed a quick one-night getaway. PROS The breakfast was yummy (french toast) and the chef was very kind and interactive. With it being a hot day, the window AC unit was great! Directions and check in instructions were clear. It was nice to be located close to two restaurants! CONS There were a couple of things we anticipated experiencing that did not end up happening. -Our jet tub in the Cedar Suite did not work, which was a main reason we had booked that room over other available options. -There were not any bath robes (as seen in photos online). -There were hooks with missing artwork on the wall -The Keurig and fridge had not been cleaned thoroughly. -The email we received when we booked in March said that complimentary mimosas would be available but they were not. We did learn that this B&B recently changed owners which could be why there are some discrepancies. It would have been helpful to have been notified of management change and a heads up of updated/out of order services. We would recommend future guests call instead of looking at the website for most up-to-date information. It was a nice stay, but not worth the price due to several missing hospitality aspects.

My partner and I LOVED The Elliott House!! We are both flight attendants and we spend a lot of time in airports and hotels so we know a good one when we see it. Our room was so cute and very clean. We can’t wait to visit again.

6/10 Good

The room was cozy, bed comfy, and I slept well! Mr. Elliott was hospitable and helpful as needs were communicated. Nice location. These are the fair reasons I would NOT return here WITHOUT some changes: -Mrs. Elliott was rude/snarky on the phone and in person a few times. If they’re interested in customers returning or referring, I would encourage her to say things respectfully or let her husband interact with customers. -Parking area was not plowed well. Rectified next morning. -I had to shovel out a 4 foot path of deep snow to get to the path to my room. -I had to request salt to be put down as walkway to my room very slippery with ice-stairs to breakfast room we’re also slippery and unsalted until I requested the salt. They communicated “liability fears” at least 3 times with regard to my stay but didn’t regularly salt paths & stairs? Irresponsible. -Microwave in common area was not functioning consistently and didn’t work without assistance. -Jacuzzi jets did not work first morning-Mr. E had to come repair after I left for a while. Next morning they worked. -There were a couple nuts that must have toppled into my breakfast on Sunday after I told them I was allergic to nuts. I had an immediate reaction so I left the food causing the issue on my plate & said nothing. I would encourage them to make something else to feed guests or take greater care to keep allergy sensitive food away from other foods. -Put a sign at front of property showing where to park.
