The location is great, with three different metro stations within reach. There's a 24h store nearby where you can buy food and alcohol, as well as lots of small cafés/brasseries. My favourite ones were in the direction of the Châteaux d'Eau station. Important note: lots of the places are authentic and serve only drinks between about 14.00 and 17-18 or even later. I also found an Italian bookstore nearby, it had a great selection (though very few French books translated into Italian). I went to a hammam as well. There's a chocolate museum but I didn't visit it. Several clothing shops around, as well as arts/crafty stuff. The street was busy, but being from Moscow I didn't mind the noise. The hotel is hard to find, look at the photos in advance. Locals and many tourist walk to the East and North stations on foot but I couldn't imagine that with my luggage. I took a taxi to/from the North station and from there the airport train. Generally the staff recommended finding a taxi on the street rather than ordering one (takes 15 min to arrive). One downside of the location is that the surrounding streets are very narrow and the nearest bus stops seem to be at the metro stations.
