Nice stay but also hickups
The hotel left us with very mixed feeelings. The facilities have seen their best days and the overall impression did not live up to 5 strars, maybe not even 4.
The reception staff were very friendly and professional, as well as a couple of the restaurant staff, but most of the staff seemed like they have never worked in a restaurant or in any customer services profession before. At breakfast many of the items run out well before the end of the breakfast time, and when asked, the replies were like "we don't serve yogurt every morning, sir",or "we don't have any more pineapple/croissants/...". Not something you expect of a 5 star resort.
The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. The cleaning personnel are very friendly. Some nights were a bit noisy because of the wedding receptions arranged in the hotel restaurant. Also due to the weddings, the hotel restaurant was closed from the hotel guests on three of the four evenings we spent in the hotel.
The pools are very basic and the towels were not replenished adequately during our stay. There are very few poolside beds/chairs. The "Dream Pool" area had lots of dry leaves lying around and wasn't very welcoming.
The Gym is good and the staff very friendly.
Overall, the duties of the staff seemed to be unclear or undefined. However, I believe that the resort has good potential and with better management and better trained staff it could live up to the 5 stars.
