When choosing this hotel in the first place, the key factors were distance from the center, price and previous reviews. This did not disappoint.
Trinidad is located on the west side of the river near the palace, which makes it a nice & quiet spot. But all the main sights like the palace itself, lesser town & old town are within easy walking distance. Tram and metro stations were right next to to the hotel as well.
The price included free Wi-Fi, which worked fast enough for our purposes even in the top floor. I did not see this specifically mentioned but our room at least had a mini-fridge - not a minbar as there were no contents but that's better as we could fill it with our own items easily.
The room was cosy with a good sized bathroom. AC was there to keep things cool. The only thing missing was a balcony but after seeing the town, these seem to be in short supply from most hotels so not a specific downside. We were on the top floor facing the palace and we had slanted roof windows - so not much of a view but the room was very bright and honestly you won't be spending much time there anyway.
The staff were nice & helpful.
Breakfast was also included but after staying for six nights it had be come rather repetitive - I'm not sure if that's usual or due to the fac that the hotel's own restaurant Toninni Enoteca was closed due to "Technical Reasons". There are more than enough restaurants & bars nearby so this was not in itself negative - so much, in fact, I'd check online reviewes were to eat and where not as there are plenty to choose from. My two picks would be Lehka Hlava (Clear Head), a atmospheric vegetarian restaurant and Vidlicky A Noze, a more diner like place but don't let it deter you due to the price/quality ratio. Both are some distance away but the prices were low (Noze did not even have one main course over 10 EUR if I receall correctly) and the food best we had on our trip. Five star places like Bellevue might top that but prices would be in a different league as well.
The lowest score was given to cleanliness as upon arrival the room could have been better cleaned in the first place and the daily cleaning wasn't as thorough as could be expected e.g. some easily seen & removable crumbs on the floor remained. In a four star place these should be done without separate notice.
All in all, this is a good choice for a brief or extended visit. Would I stay there again? It'd be one option if planning a visit to Prague again but I'd check prices & vacancies from similarly classified hotels.
