Positives: Great food, especially the breakfast buffet, which is a deal; the rooms, which are large and modern and have nice views of the ocean and bay; the pools are nice and well-maintained; the location is convenient, very close to the bridge out of Miami Beach and right on Collins Ave.
Negatives: The service was, for the most part, terrible--it took over two days for us to get our room cleaned once, and even then, they didn't do little but important things like replenish our supply of toilet paper; At one point, our phone charger overheated and almost set the carpet on fire, likely while the room was being cleaned, and nobody did anything or even noticed; while the food and drink *is* quite good, it's also insultingly expensive, even for Miami Beach--I ordered a single bottle of Modelo from the main bar and was charged $14.38, and when I paid with a $20 I was given $5 in change (apparently the bartender felt she deserved to keep the rest as a tip without asking me); the staff at the front desk were similarly unhelpful, as they were totally unwilling to answer even the most basic questions about benefits (we're Amex Platinum card users).
