I recently stayed at Hotel Las Camelias and had a mixed experience. The hotel’s charm lies in its cozy atmosphere and beautiful gardens, making it a pleasant retreat. However, there were a few drawbacks that affected my overall satisfaction.
Firstly, the lack of air conditioning was a challenge during the hotter days, leading to discomfort. Additionally, when I inquired about transportation options to Panajachel , I received inconsistent information. The receptionist quoted me an inflated price for a shuttle, which I later found to be significantly lower elsewhere. The overnight guy said $75 US dollars and the actual cost was $125 Quetzales which is less than $20 US dollars.
Service was another area that could use improvement. I requested an early check-in and was willing to pay extra, but I felt there was a lack of urgency and communication from the staff, which left me waiting unnecessarily.
While Hotel Las Camelias has potential with its lovely setting, addressing these service issues would greatly enhance the guest experience.
