Our stay here started horribly but turned out to be really nice. When we arrived, we were shown to a really spacious room on the second floor. The room had a cellar-like smell but we thought that it is natural for a building this old. After a long walks around the city, we were laying on our bed when I felt like something was crawling in my hair and I scratched a bit. No doubts, a bed bug was walking on our nice, white bed sheets!! I totally freaked out, killed the creature and went downstairs to show it to the receptionist, now a different man. The hotel was fully booked and the receptionist wasn’t eager to find a solution first, but when I almost started to cry and my serious-looking husband came downstairs with another bug, he called a nearby hotel and booked us another room. Next morning we came back and we were told that we will have another room, now downstairs. This room was smaller than the first one, but after a long, thorough search we couldn’t find anything related to bed bugs, like feces, blood stains or alive animals so we were quite happy. For the third night, we got yet another room, now upstairs. This lovely room was clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet even though it was facing the busy Gower street. And no bed bugs! All in all, this is a traditional London hotel with really friendly personnel good breakfast and perfect location. Apparently our first room was heavily treated after our stay, so hopefully this nice hotel is now bug-free!
