This is an establishment that understands that the cornerstone of a sustainable business is a great customer experience. I visit dozens of hotels every year (and rarely leave reviews), and I can safely say the level of service at Club Maspalomas is among the best I've ever experienced. All members of staff were very friendly and went above and beyond in all interactions to ensure we had a pleasant stay.
This hotel was renewed recently - when we made the booking there were only computer generated images available and almost no reviews from the hotel post-renovation so we weren't sure what to expect, but needless to say we were very impressed. They have invested a lot into this hotel and all aspects of both rooms and public facilities are well thought-out, with very few compromises made.
We only had a few minor gripes: the rooms were fairly cool in december since there was no heating (only A/C), the rooms were a bit small, there were not many hooks/bars to hang wet clothes, and the lighting inside the restaurant was quite bright and not very atmospheric in the evening. There is not much to do in the area, so I would recommend renting a car if staying here.
On the other hand, there were numerous pleasant surprises, e.g. good beds, the heated pool (in addition to the hot pool in the great spa area), fast wifi, the well-equipped gym, excellent breakfast (we didn't have a lot of other meals at the hotel) and even local craft beer served in the bar. :)
