The receptionists were staggeringly disrespectful and impolite from the beginning. (The concierges made an exception to the rule.) We had some confusion about our reservation, they promised to look into it and phone us in the room, but there was no call. The room was called "Superior" but it was very tiny and the only airconditioning was a fan on the table. London suffered from a heatwave and the room was unbearably hot through the nights. Furthermore, my friend had organized a surprise for us by buying us a bottle of sparkling wine to welcome us to London. It was in the room when we arrived, but the cleaner never took the empty bottle, the ice bucket or the dirty glasses away even if we stayed there for 3 nights! How bad service is that?
