Paid-for Reservation Not Honored
I booked this hotel for my husband, who was on a business trip in the Bay Area. The room was confirmed and paid for way in advance. On the day of arrival, after spending a day at business meetings and dinner, he arrived at the hotel around 10 p.m. The front desk manager, Ms. Julia Bath, told him that they had given away the room even though it was already paid for.
He was given a form letter (which leads me to think this is a regular practice at this place) and told to take a $30 Uber ride to a hotel at SFO, even though his meetings the next day were all in Redwood City.
We have been frequent travelers for 30+ years, and this is the first time we have shown up to find our paid-for hotel room unavailable. I am certain that had I tried to cancel the room, they would have charged me for the night regardless. But it is okay for them to double-sell a room that was paid for by a guest. I would stay away from this place unless you are prepared to show up and find that your confirmed room is not available and you need to find another place in the middle of the night.
