The Wings Over Miami Air Museum, located at the Miami Executive Airport, offers patrons a view into the Golden Age of Flight and a look at aviation pioneers. The museum has an assortment of both military and civilian classic aircraft on display, as well as information about the pilots who flew them.
The museum is a great way to spend a few hours for any aeroplane enthusiast. Though patrons are not permitted to climb around the planes, they are allowed to study them from all angles. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to share information about the collection.

Highlights of Wings Over Miami Air Museum
The Wings Over Miami Air Museum was started to fill the void left when the Weeks Air Museum was moved after the exhibits sustained significant damage during Hurricane Andrew in 1992. In 2001, 4 local aviation enthusiasts came together and decided to use the space for a new museum.
The new museum’s creators agreed that the museum would amass a collection of airworthy aircraft that could be regularly flown. The founders also worked hard to collect a large range of planes from throughout the history of aviation from vintage civilian aircraft to military planes.

The Wings Over Miami Air Museum has 3 sections of exhibits. The first section hosts historic items from aviation history, as well as an extensive collection of model aircraft. The second section is devoted to aviation in the military.
The third section of the museum is a hangar where patrons can see up close a variety of vintage aircraft ranging up through the Cold War era. Some planes of note include an F-14 Tomcat, a Soviet-era Yak, and a British Hawk Hunter. If you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of aircraft that are in the process of being restored.
