We had a great time staying nine nights at Campanile Shanghai Bund Hotel. The room is spacious and nicely equipped with an (somewhat noisy) air conditioner, TV, safe, fridge, kettle, and a hair dryer. Small bottles of water were brought to the room each day during the cleaning. The breakfast was very nice with fresh bread, croissants, varying warm and local dishes, fruits, coffee etc.. The staff had a few issues with the coffee machines, but otherwise we were very pleased to start each day of our stay with a full stomach.
The staff was very nice and helpful for example when we needed to order a taxi from the hotel. Once or twice the cleaning ladies bothered us even though we had the sign on the door which was a bit annoying, made worse by the fact that they didn't speak any English, nor did we Chinese...
The location is a walking distance from the Bund, People's Square, East Nanjing road, Yu Garden etc. and next to a park where you can see the locals running and walking.
