We stayed at the Batong Blue for three nights. The hotel's location was all things considered very poor.
There was a beach, but it was not near the hotel, which based on the pictures we assumed. The distance to the beach was 0.7 km, and the hotel was also remote from the city (5 km). This meant using a taxi almost every time for transport to the city. We tried the free transports twice. One time, the beach transport was full and we had to walk the 700m. No biggie. Beach only had 15 sun lounges, which were always full. Bad service there.
The other time, we tried to take the free bus to city center. The poorly organized process took a long time, and we had to fit into small taxis, that after the trip with incredibly challenging communication dropped us in the wrong place and tried to scam us into paying. Oh well.
The hotel advertised as being a spa, so we tried to go. Not free for guests, cost about 20€ per person for the sauna. The pool was free but closed at 8 pm, which was odd, and way earlier than any of our other hotels.
The staff, excluding the reception staff, had incredibly bad English skills, e.g. when they tried to tell me the pool was closed at 9 pm they did not manage to communicate anything beyond "pool is finished". Later I read it closed at 8.
Rooms and facilities were clean. The breakfast was good, the views from the room and the breakfast, amazing, as expected from a 5-star. All in all, way overpriced and did not compare to many 4-star places we stayed at.
