This looks like a place which used to be a top destination hotel, but has since started to fall out of repair. Unfortunately the prices are still those of a luxury hotel, but for that money you get a stuffy room, worn carpets, rocks falling off the outer wall, non-functioning tv and wires showing from a hole in the wall around your bedside lamp. None of this is disastrous in a hotel, but this level of unrepair is unacceptable in this price range. The breakfast was good, room was clean and staff was friendly, but you can find far, far better quality in Iceland for prices half this much. This could still be the fine hotel it has clearly once been, if they did the extensive renovation the buildning definitely needs, but given the current condition, this is definitely not worth the money.
