This guest house was of passable value. It was inexpensive, had good car parking, and was close to where we needed to be, but the facilities were showing their age.
Staff were friendly (no fault on that front), and the welcome seemed genuinely warm.
However the room and fixtures were basic and old (e.g. old door keys were fiddly, basic lighting, old TV, no fridge).
Room layout was a bit awkward, and there was nowhere to place any of our suitcases, so they all had to just live on the floor.
There was a musty smell from the carpeted en-suite bathroom (floor tiles would probably be a better choice).
No towel racks.
Curtains donât allow you to completely black out the room (not a major problem for us, but could be a real problem for other families).
Walls too thin / allow too much noise from neighbouring rooms.
Breakfast only available from 8 (on Saturday), which was too early for us as we had to leave by 7:45 (which didnât seem excessively early to miss breakfast).
Breakfast (on the second day) was Ok, but nothing special. Again, staff were very friendly and helpful, but the product is a little sub-par.
