Great hotel excluding the beach
Overall a great hotel. The food is great, but also expensive as you would guess. Moderate dinner without deserts at the sushi place for two 100€, worth every € though. There are great restaurants at the near by villages of Plaka and Elounda, 30 min walk or 7€ by taxi. The deluxe room was as you would expect. Breakfast was good. The views and service are immaculate. Only major improve point is the beach. First of all the beach is open to everybody and anybody can and will occupy the hotels beach beds. No space or peace. Also the toilet at the beach was wilthy and run down. One thing going for the beach beds are the straw sunshades which can withstand the high Cretan winds. This is not the case with the sunshades by the pool. We stayed for 5 days and the by the pool sunshades could be used once. So if you are like me who wants to have shade, peace & quiet and to be able leave your mobile devices to go for swim, it might be difficult at this hotel.
