I stay here often when visiting Tucson for business or pleasure, looking for an affordable week long stay. The Tuxon has
a Tucson vibe that goes a long way,
They have a great bar and restaurant, They don’t promote it, but if you really want/need it, they will provide Room Service!
You will feel secure with gated parking.
The staff is exemplary & helpful if you need quasi valet/bell service.
The location is super convenient to 1-10, the convention center, museum and downtown. If of moderate stamina you really can walk to all these spots. There are short cuts to town ( ask at the front desk). Make sure you don’t miss the Mercado shop and eat center, literally right around the corner from the Tuxon.
The downside (s):
The beds are too high from the floor.
Guess if you are 6’+tall that feature works.
The rooms are fairly tiny - definitely a one person at a time bathroom.
If you can navigate stairs ( no elevators)
ask for an upper unit, the noise from those above you is, at times, unbearable.
All of above really can’t be addressed…it’s not their doing - comes with the territory. They did a really great job of stylishly renovating an old freeway hotel. Kudos for that. 👏
A couple of issues that should be addressed, however, is better linens.
The sheets and pillows are pretty sad. I would pay more per night for quality
linens and towels!
All & all. A very nice spot to stay in Tucson!
