After the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds on the main island, Murano was a calming quiet breath of fresh air.
The hotel is a convenient 10 steps from the ferry. There is no place to dine on the island other than the hotel after about 8P, but the menu is terrific. All of my appetizers and mains were well composed and well executed, but they all lacked a bit of seasoning. I was not too keen on the breakfast buffet, and would likely choose to find breakfast outside of the hotel next time.
The airport shuttle is no longer free, but 40 euros/pax. Be sure to reserve at least a couple of days in advance as it does sell out, and at least in Nov 2024, there was no option for a larger boat to transport a larger # of people at my preferred timeslot, so I went 30 mins later. The service is nonetheless extremely convenient.
Note: mattress was *very* firm.
My top floor room was very spacious, modern, well lit, and had beautiful views. The motor control blinds on the clerestory windows were a luxe touch.
Given the large size of the room, a bench at the foot of the bed would have been appreciated, as well as a desk. (The tiny table was, well, pretty tiny.)
Despite my 330P arrival, my room was not ready for ~ an hour. The checkin/out lines were quite long. I would expect a frequently sold out hotel to adjust staffing accordingly.
Overall, very good stay. Location and quiet over rule all downsides, but knocking off a star.
