Small hotel in a brilliant location. I had booked a three bed family room for myself, my friend and my daughter. On arrival, we were told it was on the 7th floor but we would have to take the lift to the 5th floor and then walk up the remaining 4 flights of stairs as the other lift was not working and they were waiting for parts !
I am 72 yrs old and would struggle with that but my friend has COPD, bad knee and back and would be unable to manage it. We left them to sort out something while we had a bite to eat.
When we got back, they said there was nothing they could do for 3 people but gave us a small twin room on the 4th floor and put an extra bed in it for the night. Needless to say this was very cramped as all beds had to be put together. They said that my daughter could have a separate room the next day further along on the 4th floor.
Couldn’t really unpack straight away as not sure what was happening. Didn’t get into room until 6.30pm on arrival and then my daughter had to move again the following day in the afternoon when the room was ready.
To top it all, the maid left the balcony door slightly open on second day and there was a massive thunderstorm which left our room flooded !!
Such a shame as I’m sure it would have been an ideal few nights break.
On a positive note, buffet breakfast was very good and everywhere was clean and tidy.
Hopefully the hotel are now contacting everyone booked on top floors to check they can do all the stairs
