We stopped in Lubbock on a work trip from Colorado Springs to Austin. When we arrived, there were quite a few students - likely there for sporting events at the university across the street.
The good: Hotel was clean, rooms were clean and spacious enough, employees were nice and location convenient.
The bad: There was a group of people enjoying themselves in the parking lot until nearly 4am. They were laughing and yelling, reviving their engines and occasionally taking a lap down the street to do burnouts only to return and continue to make noise. Calls to the front desk yielded no answers as they are not staffed after 11pm it seems? There was also a ton of noise in the hallways after midnight. I’m not sensitive to this type of thing so for me to comment on the noise means it was excessive.
The employees seemed to have empathy for the situation but were not concerned on how to make it right.
In addition to the noise, I didn’t feel very comfortable leaving my vehicle with expensive equipment in it in the lot as there seemed to be an abundance of shady activities happening in the area after the bars closed.
Overall, nice facility that should have some sort of security after dark. Because of the proximity to the school, expect more young adults and potentially more noise.
