I had my wedding reception at this hotel, where I booked the entire event space and paid for the food. The operations manager, Miriam, repeatedly altered the pricing and demanded cash payments. On the event day, the space was dirty and not properly set up, and they allowed other people into the area despite it being reserved solely for my event.
The day after checking out, I inquired about any outstanding charges and was informed there were none. However, a few hours later, Miriam called me with threats, claiming an additional 600,000 Ugandan shillings was owed. This was both shocking and absurd—how could they claim I owed money after I had already checked out?
When I returned to the hotel to speak with the general manager, the staff informed me he was unavailable and were hesitant to provide his name. I managed to find his contact information through a quick online search and discovered he was at the hotel the entire time.
Having traveled extensively and stayed at many hotels, I have never encountered such a level of incompetence.
I had high hopes for this hotel and venue but I wouldn't even stay here for free.
