My husband and I were so excited for a relaxing Fourth of July weekend at Suncadia—but unfortunately, this ended up being one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve ever had. I’ve never left a negative review before, but the condition of our room—and the lack of follow-through—warrant saying something.
Check-in felt disorganized. The front desk associate was kind, but seemed unsure and didn’t explain much and seemed to be distracted by one of her co-workers who appeared to be drinking alcohol behind the desk.
Our room was NOT clean: grass debris and plastic on the floor, hair in the shower, missing toiletries and a general sense that only the sheets and towels had been changed. A kind housekeeping staff member came, quickly vacuumed and apologized, saying she had submitted a request for a deep clean the next day.
We attempted to order room service several times over 90 min with no answer and eventually had to go down in person to place the order.
The next day, after being gone from 8am-3pm, we returned to find our room untouched. The front desk told us housekeeping must be scheduled in advance—something that was never mentioned at check-in and was also surprising considering the housekeeping staff member the night before said she submitted a request.
We were also told a manager would be reaching out about the issues. No one ever contacted us. For over $1,400 for two nights, basic expectations like a clean room and functioning guest services should be met.
