The room was spacious, beds were comfortable and there was even an opportunity to choose the type of pillows! The rooms were also modern and clean, with a very nice view either to the sea or the port.
What was surprising was the fact that the outdoor pool that was advertised in the hotel lifts and elsewhere was not for us to use! It was only for guests staying in the adjecent hotel. Not even if we payed. Another thing that was a bit odd was that using the gym cost 20 euros! We knew the spa would cost something, but the gym was a little outdated (yet quite large), so paying 20 euros was a little too much. Also, for 20 euros, I would have expected the spa to have some kind of shampoo for the quests to use. The spa was quite a basic spa - 2 saunas, 1 pool, small jaccuzi, some special showers and pools with water massage things. There would have been a possibility to pay more for the room to have free access to the spa and gym, but not sure it would have been worth the money.
Breakfast was very good! Would recommend including it in the hotel package.
I would recommend the hotel, especially if the weather is nice so you can go to the beach, which is right next to the hotel. The old town and the lift to the castle is very close to the hotel, so the location is as good as it gets. But there is no outside pool that is available for the customers of Porta Maris, only for customers of Suites del Mar (the adjecent hotel).
