A disclaimer: I’d probably be more excited about Neptun if we hadn’t visited Royal Palm next door a couple of years ago (had a jacuzzi on the balcony then, very hard to top that, of course this reflected in the price too). Nevertheless, Neptun’s a very nice, tidy hotel with helpful and friendly staff. It’s part of a five-hotel resort and you can use the pools and beach areas etc of any of the five.
The view to the sea and the small lighthouse island couldn’t be better. Our room was in the corner of the building and felt kind of long and narrow and not too spacy. A single bed was crammed in the other end – the rest of the family may have regarded this as a dark corner, the teen of course loved it. Shower had a rather short, fixed wall so using the nice rain shower option also opened possibilities of flooding the rest of the room.
The rocky shore area in front is very enjoyable. One would always find a great spot and free sunbeds – we’re not big fans of the early hours towel race.
Breakfast was served at the Neptun Terrace building between the hotel and the sea. The view’s superb and probably thanks to the 4-hour breakfast time it never got too crowded but towards the end some items tended to run out (yeah ok, so we sleep late and mostly base the reviews on the quality and quantity of croissants and bacon.)
The hotel’s located in the quiet hotel area of Babin Kuk. The bus stop is only a couple of minutes walk and you can reach the Old Town gate in 20 min or so.
