charming but needs some TLC
Pros: proximity to French quarter and walkability, staff was kind/friendly, nice A/C in the room, cute courtyard
Cons: extremely low water pressure (hard to get shampoo out of hair), wifi almost unusable, we had an issue where part way through our trip the key card just stopped working and they weren't able to get us a replacement card until later in the evening which left us unable to access our room late at night.
The room wasn't dirty, but there were small things, like stained and flimsy towels, scratches on the wall, etc. that made it feel like the hotel could use a facelift. Also, one of the locks on our door didn't work.
The staff was extremely kind and friendly, but when we called requesting assistance, we didn't get help. For example, housekeeping only comes every 3 days, but we ran out of toilet paper. We called twice asking for some. Hours later, we found a housekeeping staff member who helped, but we had to hunt down and find someone on our own.
For the price and location, we don't regret staying here, but there were just a few minor inconveniences that would give us pause if we were to return.
