I’ll start by saying we didn’t check in till midnight and checked out before 9 am, so I did not have time to bring these issues up with the hotel staff.
When I booked, I picked the “pay at hotel option”, as I was unsure where finances would be. When I arrived I tried handing them a card different from the one I entered when booking, and was told it had charged earlier in the day. Not ideal, and I can take blame for that, but I’m sure that would be a much bigger problem for others.
We got to our room, and there were several issues:
-The Double Sofa Bed advertised was only a twin. This was an issue when I was planning on having my two young kids sleep on it together.
-It also had no bedding what so ever. I had to go to the front desk to get linens just to sleep on it.
-The microwave was very dirty. We refused to use it for our leftovers
-The toilet seat was so loose that I thought it might fall off.
-Bathroom sink wouldn’t drain. That’s just gross. I tried adjusting the drain and ended up losing half my finger nail because it didn’t want to move.
-TV would just turn off after 10 minutes or so, and would “reset”, so that the volume was very loud when turned back on. Made the mistake of turning it back on once and waking up my kids, then when it turned off again I just gave up.
These issues might have been isolated to my room, as relatives I had in another room were happy with it. But I definitely was not pleased with my stay for the cost, even as a budget hotel.
