4/10
Specifically booked because of the pool, hot breakfast, and photos, for May 31st. Should have read the reviews.
Woman at the front desk was perfectly lovely, but the room smelled of STRONGLY of mildew. The beds were clean and comfortable, although the pillows were just an 18x18 square.
They advertise cable tv with premium channels, but there were almost no available channels.
Going to my car for luggage, I saw a sign on a door off the lobby that said "pool closed," with a cover over the pool. I asked the desk clerk because the listing refers to a sparking seasonal pool, open from May 7- September 30. The desk clerk told me the pool HAS NOT BEEN OPEN SINCE COVID STARTED. In the reviews, I later saw other people, going back 2-3 years, saying the pool was "temporarily" closed. There are at least three photos of the pool on the current website. But since Covid isn't very "temporary."
Got to breakfast at 8:30. Coffee was luke warm, eggs were overly salted, no breads of any kind, orange juice was gone, we got one glass of apple juice which was then also gone. Milk for cereal was gone. Very little yogurt left.
And they don't tell you (you have to look at a map) that it's right across the street from the railroad tracks going into the major rail yard in Clovis. You will have to run the AC/heater all night to try (with little success) to block out the sound of trains rumbling by, whistles blowing, all night long.
Would NOT recommend - even for the price.
