Check in was less than welcoming. I felt like I was checking in halfway house. No greeting, no welcome to our hotel, just being told all of the things that would get me kicked out for.
I booked a “pet friendly” room but was informed at check in that if we left our dog unattended, we would be kicked out. How in the hell are we supposed to go get dinner with our dog. I paid extra for a NOT pet friendly experience.
Rooms are very dated, dinged up furniture, but I will say the bed was comfortable.
Common areas also in the same condition. Broken light fixtures, slap some new paint on the place already.
Went outside at 6:30am with my morning coffee and was greeted with the sights and sounds of two drug addicts raiding the hotel dumpsters for bottles and cans.
7:00 am went to the breakfast room with low expectations. They of course met. Obligatory waffles, sad bread products, and packaged oatmeal. But what really left me disappointed was how bad the coffee was.
I am not a ‘goldilocks’ hotel consumer. I travel for a living, and stay in hotels 12-20 times a month. I can dig a slightly dated or funky stay, if it has some character and hospitality. This place has none of the above. I rarely review my stays at a hotel. If I have an issue, I will bring it up at the front desk. But this place warrants both barrels of the review shotgun.
Pros - Comfortable bed, nice view of the bay and ocean.
Cons - Coffee, hospitality, drug addicts, and pretty much everything else.
