Belambra purchased the Club Med Avoriaz site. It's in a prime location in a breathtakingly bucolic setting in the French Alps above Morzine another notable Apline town.
We purchased a 1-week, all inclusive package for four - 2 rooms, 2 adults each - for us and our two adult children (25 & 27), who shared a room.
Rooms are quite small, with little room to move around, but practical, with enough closet and shelve space, a shower ans separate toilet. Our rooms had a wonderful view of the town below and mountains above, plus each a small balcony.
This is a family oriented establishment, so if you don't want kids running around and rather boisterous activities to keep them entertained, you might want to look elsewhere. There seemed to be enough activities to keep the younger generation entertained, but I'd say it lacked for the older crowd, although I imagine that we were mostly interested in skiing.
There is a ski rental shop right in the upper Lobby area and a very large equipment storage area with secured ski locks and boot warmers - TERRIFIC! Plus, the resort is ski-in, ski-out.
The facility needs an upgrade, although it is still in fairly good condition considering. I think they invested in retro furniture, giving it a 70's/80's feel.
The plus in all of this s the quality of the food. It's cafeteria buffet style, so very much of a free-for-all (get there early!), but there was enough to go around and I must say that the variety was ample for all appetites. 4-stars all around!
