Parking Frustration and Loud Trains
We always try to stay at ES. But this time was frustrating. AC in the room would only go to 72 degrees and was off when we arrived. It took three hours to cool down to 72 degrees. The location is across the road from the train station (actually just train tracks). Last night I heard at least three trains and they are loud blowing their horn. Parking on ES lot is $25 per night (valet parking not available) and the clerk was not quick to point that out. There's an adjacent public parking lot (same parking lot - check Google Maps) for $10 a night but that's the responsibility of the hotel guest to know before arriving. The clerk only points out that the street parking is two hour limited and a ticket is ~$30. I parked for two nights ($50) (non valet) in the same parking lot that could have cost me ($20). I'll stay at ES elsewhere but not again in Montgomery because of the trains. Also, lesson learned, I'll check for better parking options in the future.
