Good location near Douro and Estação de São Bento
Above all, the staff (from reception, breakfast, wellness area to room maids) in this hotel must be praised; they are friendly, attentive and helpful.
Our room was large and had everything we would expect from such a hotel.
The breakfast buffet was good, but the selection and presentation could be improved. The coffee and juices were very tasty. And we really liked the positive and friendly waitress Fabriana.
The wellness area with heated pool, dry sauna and steam sauna is small, but we liked it. We had to complain to the hotel about the water quality (lots of small white flakes) and the slimy edge of the pool. The pool is apparently not checked or cleaned regularly. Hopefully there will be a maintenance interval for this pool soon. (This also applies to the dirty stairs to the left of the small church outside.)
Nevertheless, we can recommend this PortoBay Flores!
