Outdated, not clean and staff can be rude
I stayed in Bealey Quarter for 2 nights. Luckily I was out all days and only came to this place for sleeping. The place looks nice from the outside but the smell of food is overwhelming in the Lodge and the room smelled like mold. My fridge was leaking so I had to put a towel under it. After reporting it to the staff they did nothing, so they don’t seem to care that the place is falling apart. Shared bathrooms were in a surprisingly good shape. The bed did not have any blanket, only a sheet.
Additionally, when checking in the other lady at the reception insinuated and laughed how I basically looked like a train wreck, which I probably did after a day of travelling, but not really the most warm and welcoming experience. The restaurant is OK, but definitely overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area.
You’re better off spending a little extra money elsewhere or Airbnb with the same price.
