Not worth the money - do not bother staying here!
With nearly 30 years of extensive traveling, for both business and pleasure, this was one of the most overrated and disappointing hotels I've ever stayed in my life. Totally incompetent frontdesk & restaurant staff seemingly without proper hospitality background that are unable to make any professional decisions without a manager around (apparently only during the day). And even the frontdesk manager seems clueless how to treat a customer. The breakfast service is the worst - extremely rude waitress (dark lady with glasses), no good morning wishes, actually no service at all, arrogant attitude, very basic breakfast offering and no one really caring how the table looks if you want to eat a late breakfast. In fact, if you wish to come for breakfast closer to 11 (still open for breakfast), you're treated like garbage and nuisance. The room was ok, but worn out and the "view to the courtyard" meant that you are facing a wall of a residence building about 2 meters from your window where people hang their laundry, etc. Pretty over the top to call that a "courtyard", as I was informed when checking in. Bathroom was tiny and you're not able to enter the shower without putting the water on first - which of course only gets warm after running for a few minutes. So you'll be greeted with a cold shower no matter what. I will never stay at Hotel da Baixa again nor can I recommend it to anyone who appreciates quality and excellent, professional customer service.
