Overall, the hotel was quite cozy and well looked after. The inner yard and the pool section was very nice. (Who the heck doesn’t sell ice cream by the pool, though?)
Our room gave a bad first impression. It was quite small and hot, the floor had a tangible dent, the overall paint and finish was shoddy. After a couple of days we got used to it, it cooled up a bit, and it was fine if still not roomy.
Hotel food was a solid 3/5, with some not so good house wine. There were many different options available, quantity at the expense of quality. Sometimes they would re-heat yesterday’s leftovers. Bread was great when fresh.
Some of the staff were super nice and helpful, others a bit grumpy or content at best. Didn’t always feel like us being there was appreciated.
Lots of construction was going on near the hotel.
