It's a lovely hotel I visit for the third time. There is not much to complain for me, as I'm quite pleased with it. But for a five star hotel, even in Thailand, there are things that make you shake your head:
- They cannot prepare beef. It's a national problem, as to my understanding, Thais don't prepare beef that much for food? But when you promote 'Greek kebap' at high prices in the restaurant, you cannot serve dried bubble gum that cannot be chewed. You have to know how to prepare it.
- When you have 5 star guests waiting at the lobby to get to their transportation, you don't let car rental agents occupy the few customer seats for waiting.
- Beware the 17% surcharge. If they sell you something for 1000 THB, it will be topped with a 10% tax + 7% service charge. This is outright highway robbery. I'm no short of money, but when someone sells something for 1000 THB, of course the final price should be 1000 THB, not something around 1170 THB. This is not something for a five star hotel. So during my visit in Thailand, I never tip at this hotel, never. Please don't let this foul practice lure you to tip them, no matter the smile.
- Talking of smiles, the pool restaurant staff needs a higher pay or a motivation drill. The rude behavior is not up to the nice level of the rest of the hotel.
No matter my negative comments, I highly recommend this hotel anyway, and will go there soon again (kids loved it)
