What a great little hotel! I had a very spacious, clean room, everything was new and worked impeccably. The decor was modern and cozy, there was plenty of storage space, and a lovely rain shower. Three windows provided plenty of light in the room, but the artificial lighting was also plentiful and expertly designed. Light sleepers may be bothered by noise from the street, as Romford Road is quite busy. I found the city noises comforting, and enjoyed the buzzing location. The service at reception was extremely efficient and friendly. All the receptionists went out of their way to help me out with directions around the area, getting to the airport and general tips on London. Breakfast was adequate: croissants, cereal, yoghurts, coffee, tea and juice, as well as cooked options. I actually really liked the lively area: it's great for shopping (big shopping malls within 10 minutes' walking), Stratford station is an easy walking distance away (tube or DLR), and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby, as well as coffee shops and Morrison's and Sainsbury's supermarkets. I am a young woman and had no issues walking around in this area after dark. I travel a lot and hardly ever bother to review hotels, but this gem deserves some praise. Compared with the overpriced, dark and dingy hotels closer to the city center, this lovely hotel in Stratford is a real find for a reasonable price.
