The hostel was very clean, modern and clearly recently renovated. The personnell was friendly and it was easy to ask them fro maps, tips, information etc. The walk to the two closest metro stations was short and I realized, that in Paris you have to take a metro anyway because the walking distances to everywhere are pretty long, so the location of the hostel was good. The room for 4 people was fairly small, but very clean. The hostel is located in an old building with no air conditioning, so the room got very warm during the night when the window was closed because of the busyish road next to the hostel. Otherwise than that I've got no complaints at all. The room was even cleaned during the day. They have safety boxes near the reception for your valuables and it's possible to leave your bag in the hostel for the final day before leaving. The Gare du Nord -train station is a 2 minute walk away, and from there one can catch a train for both Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports. One night at Smart Place Hostel cost 32 € for me. If you stay there, make sure to visit Sacre Coeur and the Montmarte artist block, just a 10 minute walk away.
