Avoid at all Cost!
I rented this apartment on Hotels.com for 4-days, 3-nights for 4 people. When I arrived the personnel first claimed that they did not have any reservations for me (shake-down starts). I showed documentation that I have reservations for 4-days, 3-nights, 4 people but they continued to deny I held reservations. After about 45 minutes they “mysteriously” acknowledged I held reservations, but it was for 2 people (shake down continues). They demanded to see additional documentation. Being in a foreign country (Colombia) calling hotels.com is expensive (800 does not mean free). I have called Hotels.com in the past from Colombia and Hotels.com is impossible to get a live person at any reasonable length of time (actually, on a previous occasion at a different hotel I was on hold for over 40 minutes and finally hung up – was required to pay long-distance charges). Also, I could not access the hotels.com website from Colombia (who knows why – politics?).
So, I contacted my daughter (my expense – more $$$ in foreign calling) and she screen shot every piece of documentation available to show the reservations were made for 4-people (not the 2 claimed in the shake down). Still the apartment people would not budge.
Skipping a lot of back and forth, but it took over 2 hours to register and I took the apartment because: 1. It was a non-refundable reservation (and I understand why they list it that way now), and 2.) due to scheduling the 3rd person world not arrive until the next
