When we checked in to Hollywood Beach Suites, we were surprised to find that the room looked very different from the pictures online. The floor was a gross laminate-type flooring that I did not feel comfortable walking around barefoot—thank God I brought several pairs of socks with me! We booked a Queen bed. However, the bed was obviously not a Queen, but rather a Full. My husband and I immediately wanted to check out and go to a different hotel, but that was a little difficult seeing as how there were thousands of Swifties swarming Miami to see The Eras Tour that weekend. So we stayed. We slept on top of the comforter because if there was a bed that had bedbugs, it would be this one.
What most stood out (and not in a good way) was the smell. It was a mixture of mildew and a musty-smell. I understand that it’s right by the ocean (A PRO), but get a dehumidifier or something. The aforementioned comforter that we slept on felt damp to the touch.
All in all, this was not a wonderful hotel. It was pretty gross and grimy. The staff was nice enough and there was a cat there (love you, Cheetah!), but if you’re not a college kid, find somewhere else to stay.
