Old-fashioned charm but very disappointing service
The hotel reserves a deposit from your credit card. At the time of writing this, my money has still not been returned to me - and it has been a week since I check out. I have called the hotel but I have just been told to wait. In addition, the room charge cannot be taken from the deposited amount at the end of your stay.
There was a renovation at the hotel while we stayed in. This meant that there was a lot of noise at times. Furthermore, our room was located very far from the lobby and there was no lift to this part (3rd floor of an extension wing). When checking in, our bags were carried to the hotel smoothly. However, when checking out, we had to call the lobby twice to get a person to help us. This person also made it very clear that the bags were too heavy and we should have carried them ourselves. We also received some weird phone calls from the lobby throughout our stay.
The nice thing was that we received a surprise fruit and chocolate basket on the day of our arrival.
