Can't be beat - it's quiet enough if you have the fan running, clean, and cheap relative to all the other motels on the island with comfy enough beds that you can sleep well before you go on an overnight sea kayaking adventure.

Room was relatively small and minimalistic, but very well maintained. You could tell that they take pride in the display and care of their rooms when their guests arrive. Check-in and check-out were super easy and friendly. There was plenty of parking and the location was very walkable. Next time I find myself in Friday Harbor, I will definitely look into staying here again!

The Orca Inn was definitely a Budget option, but it was perfectly adequate. The room was small, but clean. I would say it was a “no frills” accommodation, but it was convenient to town and a fantastic bakery (Bakery San Juan) nesrby. If all you need is a clean place with a comfortable bed, this is a great option. But don’t expect more.

This hotel has tiny rooms just as advertised. They were perfect for those of us who spend most of our day exploring and having fun! At night we felt safe and secure and very comfortable!

We enjoyed our stay here. The place is only a few minutes walk to Friday Harbor and close to Roche Harbor on the north side of the island. Although they didn’t serve breakfast, they had coffee available in the office plus across the street is Bakery San Juan which serves great meals.

My wife and I stayed at the Orca Inn for 5 days while we were visiting the island for tourism and a wedding. The rooms are a bit small for two people, but if you are in town mostly to spend time outside of your hotel, they are very good value for Friday Harbor. The room and building in general were well maintained and clean and the staff was very helpful. One tip, if you need a hairdryer or an iron, ask the front desk!

I think the rooms are nicer than what the picture portrays, the pictures don’t do it justice. Room might be small, but has everything I’m looking for!

While there is nothing *wrong* with this property it is extremely basic, and the rooms are so tiny ya have to shimmy around the side of the bed. Its the most affordable stay, but if there's any place else available for only a little more, I'd stay there instead. A stay here is *fine*, but it will come with a side eye from your spouse.

The rooms are NY style, meaning they are small. But they were perfect for just the two of us, especially because we are shorter. The location was nice and away from things. Since we mainly used it just to sleep, this perfectly met our needs. Nice staff. Rooms were clean. Showers were hot. Each room had its own hot water, which was a nice feature.

Orca Inn is clean, cozy and comfortable walking distance (half-mile) into central Friday Harbor. We were substantially delayed by a ferry service problem from the mainland (one of the larger vessels had to be taken out of service) when we were unable to reach the Inn by phone despite repeated attempts. Against all odds, we managed to catch one last midnight sailing and arrived at the Inn at 2 a.m., to be instantly greeted at the front desk and into the room right away. Thanks!

Sad little place on low end of price scale. You get what you pay for. Tiny room ( bed only accessible from one side and head against refrigerator so all night heard motor running), key to outside door would not work, no coffee or hair dryer in room, limited desk hours so couldn’t get dryer in morning when found none on room, limited hot water. Was clean and good check-in person.

I didn't realize the office closed at 9:00 PM and arrived shortly after that time. However, the gentleman at the office kindly stayed late to check me in. I truly appreciated his help, though I felt a bit guilty about it. I apologize! Our room was cozy and charming. We only stayed for one night, so I don't have much to say. However, we all enjoyed the room.

If you ever wanted to stay on a short cot in the closet of an army barracks for the night, this is your spot. What an absolutely miserable experience. I searched Friday Harbor for a Queen room. This comes up. It’s not. It’s a lie. It’s a Full and they don’t say it (but they admitted it upon checkout). It was “clean” where you could see it but the hammered mattress cover looks like it’s been in the parking lot for the last two months. It goes great with the cigarette burns in the carpet from 1981. The full-size taco bed was tiny. On top of that, there’s no headboard. On top of that, they put the head of the bed in the middle of the room and not against the wall so my feet hang off one side and our pillows fall off the other. On top of that, it leaves your head two feet away from the AC unit that’s louder than a jet plane running in front of you when you’re on the tarmac. Not only is it excruciatingly loud, it blasts the cold air straight at your head (AND NEVER TURNS OFF AG 73° BECAUSE IT’S SO INSUFFICIENT). After hours of this and no sleep, we got up, I moved the stupid desk, flipped the mattress around to make the pillow side near the wall, and slid the entire bed up against the entry door wall. *That kept the pillows on the taco but blocked the door in case of fire. The bathroom was clean and the grounds were clean. The sink is in a different room than the bathroom. I’d hate to see the lab results from the bathroom doorknob. This was an $18 room for homeless people. 👎

Don't be fooled by the flowers in the photo. This place is old and apparently they have combined what used to be 2 small rooms into one. The result? Two queen beds, no headboards, and not up against any wall, so that the bed is sort of floating. You can't lean back or sit up. On each side of the room there is one door leading to the toilet and small shower, and another opening where there is a sink and rod for hanging clothes. All of which is duplicated on the other side of the room. Yes. There are two showers, two sinks, two toilets. This might sound good, but no. One sink had no cold water. The electric outlets were so worn, plugs don't stay in. There was no remote for the TV until we asked for one. Ditto for a hair dryer. There was no place to sit except on the bed(s). The only thing positive was the price, and while it was not dirty, everything looked like a bad DIY project.

Very basic accommodations. Earplugs are useful for when everyone is using their heating/cooling units. My shower stall was missing a door magnet on one side so it would not close completely, causing water to end up on the bathroom floor. It was not fixed during my stay.
