The compasses Inn was a very well organised friendly and relaxing place to stay. It was easy to find using Google maps from the app (which is saying something!) Good parking, although this can get busy with the pub and restaurant in the evenings, however we always found a space, getting back before 7 in the evening or after 9!
Extremely quiet considering the Pub is below - we heard nothing! Dog friendly which was a bonus, with a long walk over the fields opposite if needed for the dog. (Dog poo bin in the car park!) Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The facilities were super, great shower etc. Very comfortable bed and large pillows. Food was delicious, great breakfast and very reasonable price! Selection of local brews in the pub. The roads either way to the Inn are single track, with some passing spots, mostly other peoples drives. Further up the village there was a tractor and large trailer blocking the road as a local house (probably a new purchase from outside of the area) was having a huge amount of earth excavated, so no way past which meant reversing, turning around and a couple of miles detour the other way around. We also had to back up to allow other people to pass, as despite their being yards past a passing spot, people don't seem to be either able or willing to back up anymore (so I can only assume they were holiday makers also!) This of course is nothing to do with Compasses Inn, which we loved and would visit again without a second thought!
