Avoid rooms facing the street and numbers 404/405
The hotel is nice, however, I had specifically requested a quiet room as I made and paid my reservation three months prior to our trip. Still we ended up in a room facing the Atlantic Avenue and the sirens from the cars (there is a detention center opposite to the hotel, so lots of police traffic there) kept waking us up during the night. I complained and we were moved to another room facing the inner court. Now there was no noise from outside BUT, how unlucky were we..the new room had a door to the room next to it and there was no sound-proofing what so ever in the door. So we could hear, for instance, the guest nextdoor talking in the phone AND also what the person in the other end said... there was also another incident, but since the hotel gave us some compensation, I won’t go into details. Had we had a courtside room without the door to the other room, I bet we would have been really happy with the hotel. There were also other guests requesting room changes because of the noise, so it’s not like I was just too sensitive...
