I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Club Quarters Hotel on Fannin Street. From the outset, the check-in process felt cold and impersonal — there was minimal interaction with staff, and the experience felt more like using a kiosk than being welcomed as a guest.
What added to the dissatisfaction was the absence of basic amenities and services one would expect at this level of hotel and which had been suggested were included in the booking website used. There was no fridge. There was no daily housekeeping unless specifically requested (which wasn't explained at the outset, or referred to in the room) and even then, it wasn’t always followed through. There was also no complimentary water provided in the room, which felt like a basic courtesy that was noticeably missing. Additionally, the lack of an in-room safe left me uneasy about securing my valuable. The water and the safety deposit box were mentioned in the website booking and was an important feature for me.
Perhaps most frustrating was the attitude of the front desk staff. On more than one occasion, they came across as dismissive and unhelpful, making what could have been minor inconveniences feel unnecessarily frustrating.
Overall, the stay lacked the hospitality and service quality I would expect, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to others based on my experience.
