The trip started with refusing to check us in, "the room will be ready at 15". It's customary to hand the keys before check in time if the room is available, but he didn't even check.
We ordered a double bed and got twin room. We got back to the counter and they changed it to a double bed room. We got up to discover a dirty room with an unidentified liquids opened on the counter.
After speaking to the manager, we got upgraded to a queen room bed, got complimentary breakfast (which was mediocre) and got accompanied by the receptionist.
Before getting to bed, 3 hours after, we discovered a 4 inch blood stain on the blanket. On that point in time we had no energy to complain anymore and just went on with it.
"That's the first hotel I don't feel safe in", said my boyfriend.
I worked as a hotel receptionist, and one of the basics was to NEVER speak your native language if your guest doesn't speak it. In addition to everything, the receptionist and and his manager refused switching to English and kept speaking Japanese despite the fact I insisted on the matter.
This is absolutely the worst stay I had I think.
