A work in progress, but still a nice stay
*Hotel was undergoing renovations when we visited*
Pros: We arrived very late at night, but were greeted by very friendly staff and felt welcomed immediately. The concierge explained the resort fee and the benefits that comes with it, which was helpful. Complimentary water in the room was nice. The $10 per day credit for food/drinks is nice too.
The bed was very comfortable - I saw other reviews about ratty mattresses and toppers, we didn't have that issue (I examined the mattress).
Cons:
Going off of other's pictures, we stayed in a recently remodeled room. It felt very "millennial beige" and souless compared to the funky aesthetic they had before. This was our first time staying at a Kimpton hotel, so I'm not very familiar with the brand, but it seems that "funky" was their thing. Unfortunately that's gone now and there's not much color at all in the room.
The most frustrating part wasn't the construction (which we couldn't even hear) it was the seemingly confusing lack of outlets in the room! As it turns out, they're on the SIDE of the nightstand and very hard to see. I didn't even notice until I read another review on here that mentioned it.
Overall, great location, decent price for what you get, and comfortable, albeit bland, rooms. Maybe once they finish their renovations it will have a bit more charm.
